Bill Sundt, former employee and right hand man for Mike Soldano at Soldano Custom Amplification, in Seattle, Washington, has been buying vintage 1940's RCA amps and converting then into Fender style 5F6A Tweed Bassman 8-10 watt amps. Depending on your choice, he uses either vintage Sylvania, GE, or RCA, etc., NOS pre amp and output tubes such as (RCA 6SL7 and 6SN7, Sylvania 5Y3, and/or 6V6GT), or he can use new modern tubes as well. He can also add a power scaling circuit as well that will allow you to get down to around 3 watts. This is the perfect small gig, apartment, or office amp.
The amp pictured below and in the video, is actually my own amp that he built for me, but it shows exactly what you'll get with his build.
I had Mike Soldano build a custom semi open 1x12" cabinet and then I loaded it with an English Celestion G12 H30 12" speaker. It sings and has that organic vintage tone that we all love.
Bill takes about 30 days to build the amp the way you want it. It will ship from his shop in Seattle straight to you.
Prices start at $1,200.00, depending on your tube choices, so give us a call and we will be glad to get one going for you.
